Privacy policy

Updated 4 October 2026. This notice explains how SuggestDish uses information when you discover dishes, submit a business or provide feedback.

Information and purposes

• Dish searches: your requested taste, cuisine, budget, mood, dietary preferences, city and optional coordinates are sent to our server to find matching menu records. Google Gemini may interpret search preferences; Geoapify may resolve a typed location. Do not enter private or sensitive information in search text.
• Location: precise coordinates are requested only after you use Enable Location and grant browser permission. You can enter a city instead, clear the selected location, or revoke browser permission. Location is excluded from remembered preferences.
• Device storage: your privacy choice is saved on this device. Saved dishes and remembered preferences are stored locally only when you choose those features. Use the remove and forget controls, or clear this site's browser storage, to remove them.
• Business review: business name, address, public profile/menu links, dish details, contact name, email, phone and ownership evidence are used to review and manage a listing. Do not submit identity documents, passwords or customer personal information. Access codes protect private management tools.
• Feedback: dish references, correction reasons, notes and any submitted ratings are stored for private moderation. They do not immediately become public reviews.
• Optional analytics: only if allowed in privacy settings, we count dish recommendation displays and Maps, menu and share-link clicks by dish and day. These totals represent events, not unique people or purchases. We do not add advertising cookies. Declining analytics does not prevent searches, saves or business submissions.
• Technical processing: hosting and service providers process technical request information to operate the site. The API uses a short-lived request identifier based on IP for abuse protection. Hosting logs may contain requested URLs, including search parameters. Avoid putting sensitive information in your requests.

Services and external links

The site uses Vercel hosting, Neon database services, Google Gemini for AI interpretation and Geoapify for locality services. Public listing sources may include OpenStreetMap. External restaurant, Maps, Instagram, WhatsApp and ordering links open services with their own privacy practices. Illustrative images may load from Unsplash. Razorpay handles checkout when enabled; paid checkout is currently paused. We do not ask for card details in SuggestDish forms. Providers may process information outside your country.

Retention and requests

Local saved data remains until you remove it or clear browser storage. Submitted business information and feedback remain in our database for listing administration and moderation; deletion is handled through a request rather than an automatic expiry. Hosting and external providers apply their own retention practices. Aggregate event totals are stored by dish and day. Temporary abuse-protection counters expire after up to 15 minutes within each server instance, depending on the feature.

To request access, correction or removal of information you submitted, contact @suggestdish.ai on Instagram. Identify the relevant listing or submission reference. Never post a private access code publicly. We may ask for information needed to verify your request. Withdrawing optional analytics permission stops subsequent event collection; previously collected aggregate totals cannot identify an individual event for deletion.

Your choices

Use the settings button below to allow or reject optional analytics at any time. Browser Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control signals also suppress optional event collection. For precise location, manage site permissions in your browser. Saved dishes and preferences have separate controls on the home page.
